چکیده

Aim: The objective of the current study is to investigate the antinoceptive effect of Pentazocineon streptozotocininduced diabetic rats. Methods: Diabetes mellitus was induced by using streptozotocin, dose of 50mg/kg body weight through lateral tail vein injection. After 48 hours, rat with blood glucose range of 200–300mg were used for experiment. NPH – insulin was given by subcutaneous injection at the doses ranging from 3-5 units daily from 34 th day and continued till 41 st days. The analagesic activity was measured using tail flick method. Result: Graph was plotted between the tail flick response in seconds and days. Conclusion: From the result, it was concluded that the analgesic effect of pentazocine in insulin treated diabetic rat were more than in normal rat, eventhough the glucose levels were almost the same.

Antinociceptive effect of black seed feeding in streptozotocin-diabetic rats

Abstract  Introduction: Diabetic rats display exaggerated hyperalgesic behavior in response to noxious stimuli that may resemble and model aspects of painful diabetic neuropathy in humans. This study was designed to investigate the effect of Nigella sativum (NS) on formalin-induced nociceptive responses (standard formalin test) in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats.  Methods: For this...

Antinociceptive activity of Tribulus terrestris oral feeding in diabetic rats: Involvement of lipid peroxidation

Background and Objective: Due to the presence of some evidence for anti-diabetic and antioxidant activity of Tribulus terrestris (TT), this study was designed to investigate the anti-nociceptive effect of TT in streptozotocin-diabetic rats using formalin test and hot tail immersion tests. Materials and Methods: Rats were divided into control, TT-treated control, diabetic, sodium salicylate (SS)...

The dipeptide Phe-Phe amide attenuates signs of hyperalgesia, allodynia and nociception in diabetic mice using a mechanism involving the sigma receptor system

BACKGROUND Previous studies have demonstrated that intrathecal administration of the substance P amino-terminal metabolite substance P1-7 (SP1-7) and its C-terminal amidated congener induced antihyperalgesic effects in diabetic mice. In this study, we studied a small synthetic dipeptide related to SP1-7 and endomorphin-2, i.e. Phe-Phe amide, using the tail-flick test and von Frey filament test ...

Antinociceptive Effect of Mirtazapine in Rats with Diabetic Neuropathy.

INTRODUCTION To evaluate the antinociceptive effect of mirtazapine and the mechanisms mediating this effect in neuropathic pain in rats with diabetes. METHODS The experiments were performed in Sprague Dawley rats using a hot-plate device. Streptozotocin (STZ) was administered to the rats after taking control measurements. Rats with a blood glucose level of 240 mg/dL or above in the blood spec...

Interaction of memantine and ketamine in morphine- and pentazocine-induced antinociception in mice.

The interaction between uncompetitive NMDA receptor antagonists (memantine and ketamine), and morphine (mu-opioid receptor agonist) and pentazocine (kappa-opioid receptor agonist) was studied in the writhing test in mice. Memantine and ketamine, administered at subthreshold doses, potentiated antinociceptive effect of the threshold (1 mg/kg) dose of morphine. The effects of the threshold (6 mg/...
